. Kendra Wagoner is an aspiring broadcast journalist with interests in news, entertainment and travel journalism. Currently she is a senior in the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University. Her specializations are in Sociology and Political Science. She would describe her time at Ohio University as being in Neverland, yet she is excited and ready to take on the real world.
Kendra worked as a news intern during the summer of 2013 at WTVG, the ABC affiliate in Toledo, Ohio. Here she gained hands on experience in the field with reporters, interviewing people and creating her own stories and packages. At school Kendra is a multimedia reporter at WOUB public media station in Athens, Ohio. She also is a host and reporter for Straight Up, the entertainment news source for Athens, broadcasted on WOUB2. Kendra has also previously interned at Ohio University Communications and Marketing as a multimedia reporter. She wrote stories for the the campus wide COMPASS newsletter and created multimedia pieces for Undergraduate Admissions. She also created and produced her own segments for Ohio University’s YouTube channel called “Word on the Street”.
Kendra also has experience in public relations and marketing. She has served as an account associate for an apparel store in Athens with the organization, ImPRessions. Here she worked with her team to brainstorm and execute new ideas to promote the first collegiate Under Armour apparel store in the nation, The House.
In her personal life Kendra enjoys traveling, concerts, fashion, animals and breaking news. She currently lives in Athens, but her home town is Toledo, Ohio. She is actively searching for a news position upon graduation in May 2014 and is willing to relocate and explore the country and beyond.
